Yo-Yo, did you hear about Benjamin Von Wong’s latest creation? Last week, he revealed a masterpiece commissioned by Greenpeace USA for their campaign “Change the Code, Not the Climate”. The whole shebang cost a whopping $5 million, thanks to the generous funding of Ripple co-founder Chris Larsen. The campaign’s goal is to save the environment by changing Bitcoin’s proof-of-work (PoW) consensus algorithm through a “code change”. Apparently, PoW uses up a lot of energy, unlike other consensus algorithms. Talk about being an energy hog! What Green R.I.P does not realize is that changing PoW into PoS, means it will not be a consensus algorithm anymore. It will turn into a centralized piece of garbage. No thanks!
